Noninfectious cerebral aneurysms are rare in patients with congenital cyanotic heart disease. We present a patient with DiGeorge/velocardiofacial syndrome with a complex congenital cyanotic heart disease with a ruptured anterior communicating artery aneurysm. The 10-year-old child was managed by surgical clipping of the aneurysm. Surgical challenges included prominent veins in the Sylvian fissure, difficulty in differentiating arterial and venous bleed, and anesthetic risks. The patient recovered without any neurological deficits. This is the first report of a patient with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, with a noninfectious cerebral aneurysm.The estrous cycle is caused by the changing concentration of ovarian hormones, particularly 17β-Estradiol, a hormone whose effect on excitatory circuits has been extensively reported. However, fewer studies have tried to elucidate how this cycle, or this hormone, affects the plasticity of inhibitory networks and the structure of interneurons. Among these cells, somatostatin expressing O-LM neurons of the hippocampus have a role in the modulation of theta oscillations, and they receive direct input from the entorhinal cortex, which place them in the center of hippocampal function. In this study, we report that the expression of PSA-NCAM in the hippocampus, a molecule involved in the plasticity of somatostatin expressing interneurons in the adult brain, fluctuated through the different stages of the estrous cycle. Likewise, these stages and the expression of PSA-NCAM affected the density of dendritic spines of O-LM cells. We also describe that 17β-Estradiol replacement of adult ovariectomized female mice caused an increase of the perisomatic inhibitory puncta on O-LM interneurons, as well as an increase in their axonal bouton density. Interestingly, this treatment also induced a decrease in their dendritic spine density, specifically in O-LM interneurons lacking PSA-NCAM expression. Finally, using an ex vivo real-time assay with entorhino-hippocampal organotypic cultures we show that this hormone decreased the dynamics in spinogenesis, altogether highlighting the modulatory effect that 17β-Estradiol has on inhibitory circuits.In the present study, we aimed to check whether uterine leiomyomas (ULs) with an apparently normal karyotype in vitro comprise "hidden" cell subpopulations with numerical chromosome abnormalities (heteroploid cells). A total of 32 ULs obtained from 32 patients were analyzed in the study. Each UL was sampled for in vivo and in vitro cytogenetic studies. Karyotyping was performed on metaphase preparations from the cultured UL samples. A normal karyotype was revealed in 20 out of the 32 ULs, of which 9 were selected for further study based on the good quality of the interphase preparations. Then, using interphase FISH with centromeric DNA probes, we analyzed the copy number of chromosomes 7 and 16 in 1,000 uncultured and 1,000 cultured cells of each selected UL. All of the ULs included both disomic cells representing a predominant subpopulation and heteroploid cells reaching a maximum frequency of 21.6% (mean 9.8%) in vivo and 11.5% (mean 6.1%) in vitro. We conducted a retrospective study of 101 patients older than 80 years of age treated by low digestive hemorrhage (LDH) in an emergency department during 2018. Sociodemographic variables were evaluated, as well as comorbidity and survival at 18 months. Survival was assessed by a Kaplan-Meier test.
52.5% of the subjects were women. The average comorbidity of the sample was 1.97. The survival rate per year was 60%. The finding on colonoscopy shows no association with mortality. However, those patients on anticoagulant/antiplatelet therapy have a higher survival rate.
Survival per year is high, so urgent colonoscopy for an LDH should be performed after evaluating the patient's stability and functional status in a scheduled and outpatient manner.

Three morbidly obese and 5 normal-weight Chinese women were enrolled in the microarray testing group. Abdominal subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) samples were excised. Total RNAs including miRNAs were extracted. Affymetrix GeneChip miRNA 4.0 Array was used to compare the expression profiles of miRNAs between the 2 groups. Two algorithms, miRanda and TargetScan, were used to predict target messenger RNAs (mRNAs). Bioinformatics analysis was then done based on the Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) databases. The sample sizes were further expanded to 8 morbidly obese and 9 normal-weight subjects, and quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was utilized to verify the expression of differential miRNAs and target genes.
